RE: Sloopy; revisited and reply

Update:
I put 2" square pieces of roof rubber between the bed rails and the slider tubes. Noise gone. I don't plan any under the rollers since the ones on top of the rails did the trick.

RE: Sloopy; revisited and reply

CactusJohn
I can name several that respond in a timely manner. Ventline, Campingworld, Perry georgia visitor center, Nuwa and Nuwa has responded within one business day three times.
www.Reeseprod.com has not responded after more than a week. They don't post a phone number on there web site.
To me, if your not going to respond, don't post any contact options on your web site. I thought they were a better company than that.

RE: Sloopy; revisited and reply

I'm the one that said about the rubber shims. I agree its not, unlocked handles, poor installation, brake control or not enough pin weight. My son whatched the handle rock and so on. There appears to be to much tollerance or that is just the way it is. Let us know what Reese says, I was going to call them too. For a temporary solution I am going to try the rubber.

RE: Sloppy!! Help Me hitch Guru's. Please!

I'm having the same concerns. I was going to post the same question. Is there a way to stop that slop. At a club campout this weekend, another guy that has a slider hitch of a different brand. He used pieces of roof rubber maybe 2 inches square between the slide rails and the bed rails and then one under each slider roller. He said it made a hugh difference but wasn't sure it would be a long term solution. I will be very interested with the responses.
Thanks

RE: Wow, Dropping NuWa from my list of choices

Quote: "Here is a question for everyone. Do you really think a 2 year warranty is reasonable on an 80K product. I find it interesting how each company brags about the quality of their product but they will only cover it for 2 years. Even Ford, Chevy and Dodge give you 3-5 years. Seems to me that a tow vehicle get more abuse than a trailer"
Silverado, My $300,000 home came with a one year warrantee. My truck came with a three year warrantee but a limit of 36,000 miles which should be up in a little over two years. A 2 year bumper to bumper warrantee on the trailer is fine with me.
Don
I agree, if you had wheels under your $300,000 home, would the builder give you a warranty. I don't know about anyone else but heck I remember when vehicles only had 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever came first. and your home warranty was as good as your carpenters word.
Have RVs always been 12 months 18 months or two years. My last trailer was a rockwood with 12 months and I bought an extra year for $100. Didn't have any need to use that extra time anyway, I guess that was a waste of $100.
Good luck with your choice, I happen to feel the Hitchhiker is very high quality with excellent factory support. When the perfect consumer product is manufactured we'll probably get killed in the rush trying to get to it first.

RE: Plastic Water containers, are they dangerous?

Super, I too drank out of cricks, out of garden hoses, and even shared a dipper of water from a bucket with several of my buddies. And now, we're all old, grey haired, wrinkled fellas. Maybe we'd still be young pups if we hadn't been so casual about our drinking habits. Heck, we're all gonna die of something so I'd advise folks to quit finding things to worry about and get on with their lives. I did to to but if you you drink enough it causes you you to repeat words. ask me me I know.

Flying J Doesn't Give RV Club Penny Discount Anymore

I don't know if I never seen it until today but they aren't giving RV club card holders the Penny per gallon like they use to. Like at $3.89 a gallon it makes that much difference anyway :h.

RE: Fifth Wheel Tailgate for TV

I just bought the Stromberg Carlson Plastic over Aluminum. Seems very good quality. It does say not to stand on it. I bought it mainly for two reasons 1. Safety factor, my plan is to leave it up while hitching. I have watched to many DW's stand between a tailgate and a camper watching DH as he backs in. I just hope moving forward he doesn't forget to take it out of reverse. 2. Accidents happen and tailgates are expensive. The Stromberg was $184 to my door. JMHO

RE: Rear electric jacks worth the extra money ?

My only problem with rear electric jacks is if they're tied together on one up-down switch. When the surface under the trailer is not exactly level ( as it usually is when boondocking), it would be nice to that have the ability to lower each jacks independently of each other. As long as the places you stay are perfectly level side to side the electrics are fine, it not, I prefer the independent manual jacks.
I have elect. rear stabilizers and the way mine work on uneven surface is as soon as one pad touches the ground it stops and the other one comes down until it touches the ground and then both are driven down with equal force and will actually bring the rear frame of my 15k lb. trailer up a couple of inches that is something I could not do with manual rear stabilizers. Mine were factory installed and have only one switch. I would never be with out them.Ditto, It must be magic:B, I just wish the landing legs worked the same.

RE: Weight rating explanation please?

Pin weight is in that total GVWR, so if you have at least 2000lb pin weight you are within the axle rating.

Perry GA Rally Vendors

I plan to get a Demco Ride extended pin. My question is, do I get it now or wait until the rally? Does anyone know if Demco has went to the Goodsam Rallies before? If so, do they discount the hitches. I figure if it worth waiting, I might.
Thanks
